The automatic hot-melt adhesive filling system Series TWISTER may be installed and used on any existing gluing system. TWISTER permits glue to be loaded into the machine automatically and maintains the glue level constant in the tank without needing the intervention of an operator.
The automatic filling system consists of a sensor positioned inside the melting tank that detects the level of the adhesive; when the level falls below the set minimum, a suction pump automatically starts loading small quantities of granules, ensuring greater efficiency and productivity of the line thanks to maximum system availability.
There are many advantages to using the TWISTER automatic loading system: the tank is kept constantly full, reducing the carbonization process and the exposure of the adhesive to external contaminants, maintaining the original adhesive properties and avoiding thermal shocks that are harmful to the proper storage and use of the adhesive. The system for automatic adhesive refilling significantly reduces manual intervention by the operator, generating considerable savings in terms of time, reducing maintenance costs for the entire system, and guaranteeing no machine downtime due to a lack of glue in the tank. The operator can load the adhesive safely and without risk of burns, as it is not possible for him to come into contact with the hot adhesive; an additional safety locking system prevents the tank from being opened by untrained personnel. The tank lid features an easily accessible and replaceable air filter to purify the vapours produced by the melting of the adhesive. The tank, made entirely of stainless steel, makes the TWISTER automatic filling system particularly suitable for use in a wide range of sectors, including the most demanding ones such as food and pharmaceuticals.
The control of all phases of adhesive loading, from the storage tank to the melting tank, as well as the programming of refill intervals, is managed directly from a special customizable menu on the user interface of the VELA melter's touch screen display. The system is also equipped with a button for manual loading. Alternatively, in the case of retrofitting on previous models or installation on other brands of melters, an external control unit is available (with the same functions as the version integrated into the touch screen) that can be positioned or remotely controlled according to customer requirements.
The latest generation capacitive level sensor is positioned inside the melting tank so that it can detect changes in the adhesive level with absolute precision, sending a load and stop signal to the suction pump.
The conveyor cone has the task of conveying the adhesive granules into the melting tank without dispersing them. Its specially designed conical shape allows it to be used on all existing systems, regardless of brand and type.
The hermetic system for the connection of glue and air tubes and the protection filter installed on the melter lid allow to use TWISTER avoiding the risk of contaminating the glue with external agents keeping the original adhesive properties, reducing carbonization process. The additional integrated safety lock on the tank lid prevents untrained personnel from opening the tank.
The 60-liter glue tank is made entirely of stainless steel to meet all installation requirements, even in special environments. The soft-close mechanism slows down the descent of the lid. A grid at the top protects the suction pump from damage. There is a transparent front window for viewing the adhesive level in the tank. It has wheels to facilitate movement.
The air and glue hose connection system, located at the rear of the tank, allows the TWISTER to be used without the risk of contamination of the adhesive by external agents, safeguarding the original adhesiveness and reducing the carbonization process in the tank.
The suction system works through an innovative, powerful Venturi pump that was completely designed by Preo. The suction pump does not contain any moving parts, thus excluding the possibility of mechanical failure and eliminating time needed for maintenance.
A particular vibration system connected with the suction pump prevents lumps from forming in the glue, which could block the suction and operation process.
